Description: Small yellow flower heads on branches form a cluster on top of a grayish downy stem. Flowers: Heads about 1/8" long. Leaves: lanceolate, rough above, hairy below, somtimes toothed; lower ones up to 6 inches long, upper ones smaller.

Height: 2-7 feet tall

Habitat: Thickets, roadsides, and clearings.

Range: Southern Ontario and Quebec; New York south to Florida; west to Texas; north to Minnesota and beyond.
