Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) will hold a town hall to discuss school safety and security. While system leaders and members of the community School Safety and Security Council have been meeting since the spring, the town hall is an opportunity for members of the public to share their ideas and suggestions. The town hall is set for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 29 at St. Charles High School. The James E. Richmond Science Center at St. Charles is holding a drop-in STEM camp for kids in fourth through eighth grades during the week of Aug. 27 to 31. Go to to register for the camp. Before you know it, the Charles County Fair will be in full swing in all its deep fried Oreo glory. You'll need a fair guide to navigate the fairgrounds, which happens to feature the cover art of a Maurice J. McDonough High School student. Read more at
