La Plata Athletic Boosters
Who we are!
Who are the
Boosters?
The LPHS Boosters are you, me, coaches, staff, parents, and anyone who wants to
donate time and effort to enhancing our athletic program and the community
spirit at La Plata High
School. We are always looking for individuals with
special skills and/or talent or any other contributions you can provide. We
welcome all ideas.
Through your participation in the boosters, you’ll be informed about the
current activities and events happening in your student’s school and
community.
You’ll develop lasting friendships with parents of other students,
administrators, coaches, and other members of the community.
It may surprise you that most Booster members have families and full-time jobs,
but they find time to participate. You will find that being a member of the
Boosters is rewarding just knowing that you are helping out the school as well
as the community.
We need your support! Meetings are the 2nd Monday of each
month (unless otherwise noted).
Mission Statement
Encourage sportsmanship and promote high standards of integrity for our student athletes as well as support student and parent involvement in t he athletics as active participants, spectators and/or volunteers.
Promote community activism, which provides the funding and volunteerism necessary to give Warrior students and athletes the resources needed to maximize their potential.
Improve the athletic facilities and supplies for La Plata High School. La Plata’s school budget is simply insufficient to adequately supply our children’s sports teams and to maintain and modernize the school’s facilities.
Goal
Our goal is to increase involvement by family members of our student athletes. Participation as a fan, fundraiser or Booster member not only increases the success of La Plata’s Athletics Department, but also provides the opportunity to teach our children the importance of community involvement.
Meetings
General business meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of each month, dates
listed below. The meetings are held in the Commons Area. They begin at 7pm and
run approximately 1 hour. The meetings are brief, informative and follow a
pre-planned agenda. Included in the meetings are the Treasurer’s report
and the minutes of the previous month’s meeting. Each committee (where
applicable) will give a short report then we discuss any old and new business.
This is a great time to voice concerns, ask questions and suggest ideas on how
to improve the program. We encourage you to join us and see what you can do to
help our student athletes.
