Athletic Boosters Achievements

The Athletic Boosters at LaPlata High School supports ALL sports. The Athletic Boosters provide awards, plaques, metals, certificates, and pins for all Sports Awards ceremonies that are held throughout the school year for each Sports Season (Fall, Winter, and Spring). This also includes providing special awards for those teams that had advanced to the next level of competition such as Regional’s. Each sport may participate in approved fund raising activities on their own with the approval of the Athletic Director and request financial assistance from the Boosters to help cover a share of the costs of equipment, uniforms, or facility improvement.
The Boosters raise funds through the school year. The following is a list of the events and activities that the Boosters have sponsored:

· LPHS Apparel Sales
· Mulch Sale
· Basket Bingo
· Concession proceeds for most sports events held at the school

Achievements for the 2006-2007 school year.
1. Overall we had a very productive year. Sales of our LPHS Apparel were great. There was a lot of school spirit showed last year.
2. Our Annual Mulch Sale once again was a big success. We sold approximately 19,000 bags of mulch. Thanks to all the coaches, parents and students who were there to provide support. Without everyone’s help, we could not have been successful. Our goal for next year is to sell over 20,000 bags.
3. Our Fundraiser events had a good turnout. The Basket Bingo had a bigger turnout this year than last. We need to make sure we start advertising and contacting businesses sooner for sponsorships and donations. This was also the case for the Golf Tournament. The Golf tournament wasn’t as large as last year but we will strive to improve for the upcoming school year. Our goal for next year is to advertise sooner for our fundraising events so we have an even larger turnout.
4. We continued to use Chick-Fil-A to provide sandwiches to the concession stand for games and this was a huge success.
5. We continued to use Pizza Hotline to provide pizzas to the concession stand for games and this was also a huge success.
