Meet
the Principal . . .
Mrs. Carol Leveillee has worked for Charles County Public Schools for
24 years. During that time she taught at Mt. Hope Nanjemoy and William
B. Wade Elementary School. After 11 years of teaching, she became an Instructional
Specialist. She then became Vice Principal at Eva Turner, Dr. James Craik
and Mary H. Matula. This is the ninth year that she has been the Principal
of Mary H. Matula Elementary School. Mrs. Leveillee was the 2006 - 2007
Washington Post Principal of the Year.
Mrs. Leveillee's favorite subject is math. Her favorite sayings are "If
it is to be, it is up to me" and "Character is what you do when
no one is looking." She lives in Solomons's Island in Calvert County
with her husband. Her son recently graduated from UMBC with a degree in
informational systems.
