MSA Testing In March

Students in grades 3-5 will be taking the Maryland School Assessment on March 13, 14 (Reading), and March 20, 21 (Math). This state test is given to students to comply with the No Children Left Behind (NCLB) Federal requirement. Make-ups are permitted, but please make sure that your child attends school, and that you stress with your child the importance of doing his or her best. Students scores are divided into three categories: Basic, Proficient, and Advanced, and you will get a report on how your child did with the fourth marking period report card.

Students in Grades 1 and 2 will be taking the county third quarter test on March 19 (Reading), and March 22 (Math). Good luck to all of our students!!!

Mr. Richmond and Board Supply Students for Success

We want to once again thank Superintendent Richmond and the Board of Education for replenishing us mid-year with school supplies. These supplies included wipes, tissues, pencils, crayons, colored pencils, paper towels, etc. An original shipment was sent at the beginning of the school year. These supplies are much needed in the classroom, and just another way that Mr. Richmond and the Board of Education supports our school.

Fifth Grade Recognition

Our recognition of fifth graders’ completion of elementary school will take place on Friday, June 8, from 10:00-11:30 at the school. The fifth grade teachers have planned many exciting events up to and surrounding this very important date, including a dance in April, and a party on June 8th. See your child’s teacher or the main office at school if you would like to assist in any way. Hopefully, we can all come together to make these final activities for our fifth graders something special.
