Criteria For Selection First Flight and Day Care selection
First Flight:
Selection of children for the 2 hour program is based on date of
application, space available and age of the child. A maximum of
20 children will be enrolled in each session. The age of the children
for entrance must be three as of December (exceptions to this are
made on an individual basis). The program is structured as a preschool
with routine and activities planned, younger children are not usually
developmentally ready. Applications are accepted throughout the
school year. Letters of acceptance in the program will be sent at
the end of June. First Flight orientation and opening day will be
in October. A letter stating time and fee will be sent in late September.
Childcare:
Child must be at least 2 years old on the date of enrollment, and
not enrolled in a grade beyond kindergarten. Transportation to and
from the center must be provided for or arranged by the parent.
The center is open during the Charles County School year on days
when Charles County teachers are working. Enrollment for Charles
County Public School system employees begins first. Open registration
will follow.
