Health Room Procedures

In the event that a student becomes ill or sustains an injury at school, the nurse will contact the parent/guardian of the student.  For this reason, it is imperative that the school has current home, work and emergency phone numbers.  Please be sure that if your number changes mid-year, the office is notified immediately.   If you are not able to leave your job to pick up a sick child, please make arrangements for someone that is listed an emergency contact to pick up the child.

Medications should be given at home whenever possible. If it is absolutely necessary that a child take medication during the school day, the doctor and parent/guardian must complete a permission form, which can be picked up in the office.  Medication must be brought with the permission form to the nurse upon arrival to school.  It is very important that this medication, even over the counter cough drops, are taken to and administered by the nurse.  This is for the safety of all students.
