Destination Imagination

Destination Imagination (DI) is a creative problem-solving program involving teams of up to seven members.  The teams create a solution to one of the Team Challenges and practice brainstorming techniques to prepare for improvisation elements and Instant Challenges.

Students involved in DI develop varioous skills including group process techniques, decision making skills, as well as drama, art, music, design, writing, and construction skills.

Drama Club

Drama Club meets once a week to work together towards one common goal: Producing a Spring Musical.  Each student learns how to sing, act, dance, and the basics of stage movement.  Throughout the school year, students will encompass the roles of their character in order to put on a spectacular performance at the end of April.  There are many opportunities that present themselves to the Drama Club members throughout the school including, but not limited to: Performances, Field Trips, Fundraising Opportunities, and much more!

Educators Rising Educators Rising, formerly known as Future Educators of America (FEA), is a national professional educators' program. The program is designed to motivate middle and high school students to pursue careers in education. Educators Rising cultivates highly skilled educators by guiding young people on the path to becoming accomplished teachers, beginning in middle school and extending through high school and college.

Green Club In support of Theodore G. Davis Middle School’s effort to earn Maryland Green School recognition, this club provides student members with guidance, support, and camaraderie as they seek to address environmental issues in a meaningful manner.  Potential activities will include conservation signs on light switches and paper towel dispensers, Earth Day and Arbor Day activities, and planting of a Monarch butterfly garden.

Math Counts The mission of the Davis Math Counts club is to provide a fun and challenging math program to increase you academic and professional opportunities.  Students will have the opportunity to practice weekly at school, participate in County level competitions, and, if you are one of the top ten students in Davis' Math Counts club you will go on to compete at the Tri-County competition in February.

The National Junior Honor Society is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.

SADD
Students Against Destructive Decisions
The TDMS SADD club is a peer leadership club dedicated to educating youth to help prevent them from making destructive decisions and set a healthier and safer course for their lives.  Our club's unique approach involves SADD members delivering education and prevention messages to their peers through school- and community-wide activities and campaigns.  In order for our club to be successful at this approach, the club hosts mandatory before school meetings for our members.

Meeting Permission Slip

VEX Robotics VEX Robotics is the leading and fastest growing robotics program for middle and high school students.  VEX EDR is a robotics competition with two different divisions: middle and high school.  In these divisions, aluminum and steel parts are used, and the robots are built using the VEX EDR Design System.  Students from Grades 6-8 may participate in the middle school tournaments.  Applications are due November 6.
