Welcome to John Hanson Middle School!

We are proud to say John Hanson has an active PTSO committee within our school.   We are surviving hard to get parents involved, assist the staff members, supply our school with what it needs, and make our school the best in Charles County. 

With you…we can make this happen!!!

We have listed a few Q&A to help you better understand our PTSO!

STAY IN THE KNOW- we have established an emailing list as well as a Facebook page to keep our members informed of what is going on or where we might need help.  Please sign up for our email list or check us out on Facebook.

WHAT CAN I DO- Attend meetings, sign up as a volunteer for an event, make suggestions, offer donations or community connections.  Every little bit helps.

WHAT HAS PTSO DONE LAST YEAR- Last year we have helped with purchasing calculators, volunteered for Fall Fest, Holiday Fest, Holiday Dance, Valentine’s Day Dance, Book Fair, collected donations for the Holiday Market and raffle basket, ran four to five fundraisers for the events, baked & purchased desserts for the John Hanson staff before the holidays, assisted with Math Night, Language Arts night, and cyberbully, sold spirit wear, teacher appreciation week, teacher Cinco de mayo lunch, award assemblies, and two vendor shows.  So as you can see...we are trying to make the difference.

MEETING TIMES- Meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 6:30 to 7:30pm.  Our first meeting is October 11th.

HOW CAN I VOLUNTEER- Typically if we have need for volunteers at event, we will send out a request via SignUp Genius.  Sometime we do it by email.  Either way…we keep you in the know.
