The Charles County Adult Education Program offers a variety of daytime and evening classes including preparation for a Maryland State High School Diploma, English as a Second Language, Basic Skills, Career Pathways, and Citizenship classes.
Depending upon the type of skills needed, individuals may qualify to enroll directly in one of two pathways which lead to a high school diploma – General Educational Development (GED®) or National External Diploma Program (NEDP®).
Browse Our Programs for specific class descriptions, and contact us for an appointment to help you decide which program is best for your needs.
Adult Education works closely with the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation (DLLR) to ensure that all programs provide the best up-to-date services for adult learners.
Childcare is available at the Lifelong Learning Center during morning classes for ages two months to five years while their parent attends classes at the Center.
Students, age 17 or older, who wish to work toward a high school diploma must first attend two short orientation sessions. Those students between ages 16 and 18 must be officially withdrawn from school prior to being enrolled in class at the LLC. During orientation the pathways to a Maryland State High School Diploma are presented. Students are evaluated before being assigned to a class. To register for Orientation, call 301-753-1774.
