WHAT IS PBIS?
ü
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports is
a program that focuses on teaching students expected routines and behaviors
within the school setting and rewarding those students for complying with these
rules and routines.
ü
PBIS
is a “shift” in noticing what students are doing that is “wrong” and a
re-focusing on what students are doing “right” – this creates a more positive
learning environment for our students and a more positive work environment for
our staff.
HOW DOES PBIS
‘LOOK’ AT STODDERT?
RESPECT
RESPONSIBILITY READINESS
When students
demonstrate these characteristics they are rewarded by staff members with “character cash”. This cash can be spent like money in our PBIS store every
Friday during lunch shifts. Students may choose to spend their cash every
week or save for more expensive rewards. We have treats, school supplies,
gift certificates, stuffed animals – and anything else that is donated!
WHAT A GREAT
IDEA! HOW CAN I (or my business) HELP?
We appreciate
sponsors from our families and our business community. We list names of
contributors in our monthly newsletter and proudly display the business donor
names in our main office. No donation is too small or too large!
WHO DO I
