A broad range of basic principles and practices of a variety of business institutions are explored.  These fundamental principles are studied in local, national and international context affording the opportunity to explore the differences in culture and perspective.  Instruction includes units in accounting, marketing, e-commerce, entrepreneurship, and human resource management.  It serves as one Advanced Technology Education credit.

This course will teach advanced skills in database and spreadsheet development.  Some of these skills will include creating multiple tables and workbooks, database relationships, sub-forms, and macros.  Emphasis will be placed on the integration of applications and problem solving.  Multimedia and web page creation will also be explored in greater depth. This course is open to 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students. It serves as one Advanced Technology Education credit.

Business Management

Develops the skills necessary to use computers as tools to increase productivity in a variety of subject areas and careers.  Instruction will include units on word processing skills, desktop publishing concepts, spreadsheets and charting, databases, presentation graphics, using the Internet as a research tool, and basic web page creation.  Computer terminology and concepts will also be expanded.  Students will have a solid foundation in computer literacy and the efficient use of computers to solve many problems upon the completion of this course. It serves as one Advanced Technology Education credit.

Computer Applications

Introduction to computers course with emphasis on proper techniques and keyboarding skills.  Students use Microsoft Office to create various document. This course also has an articulation agreement with CSM, ask any business teacher for more information.

Computer Utilization & Keyboarding/Word Processing 

Cooperative Education

Prerequisite: Senior Status, Good Attendance

Collaboration between business and school where business provide part-time employment and training during the afternoon hours, and the school provides a teacher coordinator who supervises the work and students of the student involved in the program.

E-Commerce / Entrepreneurship

Provides students with a solid financial background as it relates to business and personal systems.  Concepts such as credit, financial statements, banking systems will be covered.  Students will buy and sell stock via a virtual stock market challenge.

Study of the legal rights and responsibilities in adults and minors in civil and criminal actions.  Emphasis on laws applying to ethics, contracts, sales, employment and business transactions.

Entrepreneurship is a key driver of our economy.  Students will simulate a start-up of an Internet-based business from concept to implementation.

Investment & Financial Management

Sports & Entertainment Marketing

Course provides core content applicable to all sport/event marketers as well as content unique to each industry.  Students will be given opportunities to practice the use of technological business tools in performing sport/entertainment marketing activities.  This course should integrate academic skills, such as writing, reading, communication, research, and mathematics.

Future Business Leaders of America

Provides students with a solid leadership curriculum as it relates to the ever changing business world. Student work consist of projects based around and about FBLA related concepts and assignments. Students are encouraged to get along and work well in diverse student groups.
