Muddy Waters real name was Mckinley Morgafield. Muddy claimed he made his first music by pounding on a can. He started blues at age 10. Muddy played slide guitar and the harmonica. Muddy got his nick name by playing "In The Dirt ". Muddy made his greatest impact in the Mississippi delta to Chicago. He was partly responsible for linking Mississippi Blues and Urban Chicago Blues. Muddy played mostly at parties and fish fries. His 'artist fees' were $ 0.50 and a bottle of moonshine. At one time Muddy was so poor he had to work in a paper mill for years. On April 30 1983 Muddy died of coronary arrest. I believe Muddy's music will live on forever
