Fifth Grade Music

In fifth grade, we will be taking either band, orchestra, or general music. Mrs. Keough will teach only the general music students.

· We will continue to play recorders and sometimes we have gotten quite good at this and played for the school.

· We will practice our reading skills by singing and playing together on rhythm instruments as well as recorders.

· We will work on singing harmony, songs with 2 or more parts.

· We will learn more about western and world instruments and how to categorize them.

· We will study famous composers such as Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, and Saint- Seans.

· Last year, 10 of our general music students participated in the All County Honors Chorus event in the spring. You may enjoy looking for them below! We hope to be represented again at the All County Honors Chorus.

Our fifth graders performed for the Veteran’s Day Assembly and led the singalong.
