Second Grade Music

In second grade music class, we learn more about music fundamentals.

· Learning to read music symbols.

· Recognizing melodic direction both by listening and looking on the staff.

· Learning more about identifying instruments of the orchestra.

· Listening to Saint-Seans “Carnival of the Animals”.

· Learning about music from different traditions, including Irish, African American, Native American, and colonial America. We love to learn about Louis Armstrong in the spring!

· We are beginning to learn to sing 2 part harmony by singing rounds and partner songs.
