Going Green at Home

What’s you’re DOT?  DOT – Do One Thing.  Think about one thing (a green action) you can do.  Pick something you can manage and complete.  Being Green saves you green (that’s cash).

Examples of DOTS:

o      Use GREEN Cleaning Products

o      Turn off lights when leaving the room.

o      Take a 5 minute POWER Shower!

o      Plant a tree or shrub.

o      Plant native flowers.

o      Start a compost pile.

o      Walk or ride bicycles whenever possible.

o      Unplug gadgets that are not being used.

o      Switch to CFL bulbs.

o      Recycle

o      Reuse items.

o      Build or buy a rain barrel.

o      Plant a vegetable garden.

o      Use natural sunlight for lighting.

o      Carpool or use public transportation.

o      Pick up litter.

Don’t see one you like?  Come up with your own!  Remember, it’s better to Do One Thing than do nothing!
