Advanced Placement Studio Art Drawing
This academically-rigorous college-level course is designed for students who desire to prepare to take the national examination offered by the College Board in Studio Art. In the Drawing portfolio, your mastery of drawing can be demonstrated through a wide range of approaches and media. Light and shade, line quality, rendering of form, composition, surface manipulation, and the illusion of depth are drawing issues that can be addressed through a variety of means which include painting, printmaking, mixed media, etc. Works may include drawings, paintings, prints, computer-generated art, animation cells, photographs, etc. The evaluation of portfolio materials will reflect three areas of concern: quality, breadth, and concentration.
Advanced Placement Studio Art 2-D
This academically-rigorous college-level course is designed for students who desire to take the national examination offered by the College Board in Studio Art. Students may submit any 2-D process or medium which may include graphic design, digital imaging, photography, collage, fabric design, weaving, illustration, painting, and printmaking. The evaluation of portfolio materials will reflect three areas of concern: quality, breadth, and concentration
