Ceramics I
In the Ceramics I class, students learn the basics of working with pottery. They will experiment with a variety of hand-building techniques, as well as the pottery wheel. Studenst have the opportunity to express their creativity in a three-dimensional media while learning about the history of ceramics and trying their hand at glazes and slip techniques as well.
Ceramics II
In the Ceramics II class, students use the prior knowledge gained in Ceramics I to develop a more self-motivated style and body of work. They will use more advanced techniques and become much familiar with the pottery wheel while researching artists and syles of ceramics that apply to their own artwork. These students will also have the opportunity to discuss firing techniques and be more experimental with their glazes.
