The Board of Education at its June 11 meeting approved the administrative appointment of Kayla Marshall, administrative intern at Westlake High School, to assistant principal at North Point High School. Marshall’s appointment is effective July 1.
Also effective July 1 is a new role for Tamika Parker, a longtime Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) school psychologist. Parker was recently selected as the new CCPS supervising school psychologist. She replaces Michael Blanchard, Psy.D., who begins his new role as the CCPS Director of Student Services July 1.
Parker has been a school psychologist with CCPS since 2016 and most recently served at the Robert D. Stethem Educational Center and William A. Diggs Elementary School. Prior to joining CCPS, Parker was a school psychologist with Alexandria City Public Schools in Northern Virginia, and psychological assessment and clinical supervisor with Options Public Charter School in Washington, D.C.
