CCPS announces administrative appointment, new supervising PPW

Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) today announces the appointment of LaZedrick Jemison, Ed.D., as principal of Daniel of St. Thomas Jenifer Elementary School. The Board of Education of Charles County at its June 23 work session approved Jemison’s appointment, which is effective Tuesday, July 1.

Jemison joins CCPS from Fairfax County Public Schools, where he served as an elementary school principal since 2023. He replaces Jenifer Principal Kevin Jackson, Sr., who retires from CCPS on June 30.

Prior to his principal role in Fairfax County, Jemison held several administrative roles with Denver Public Schools in Colorado, including interim principal, principal resident, assistant principal and dean. Jemison also has experience working in Title I elementary schools. In addition to working in an administrative capacity with Denver Public Schools, Jemison also served as an assistant principal for two years with Aurora Public Schools in Colorado.

The Board also approved the selection of Linda Stocks, a longtime CCPS pupil personnel worker (PPW) and administrator, for the supervising PPW role for the school system. Stocks most recently served as the PPW at Theodore G. Davis Middle School and moves to her new position July 1. Stocks replaces Garcia Dixon, current supervising PPW for CCPS who is set to retire June 30.
