CCPS to celebrate more than 2,260 graduates in the Class of 2026

Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) will hold graduations June 2 through 4. All graduations will take place at Regency Furniture Stadium and stream live at www.ccboe.com. Inclement weather plan information is available on the Graduation 2026 page of www.ccboe.com. Overall, the CCPS Class of 2026 earned more than $205 million in scholarship offers.

The graduation schedule is as follows.

Tuesday, June 2

  • Maurice J. McDonough High School, 9 a.m.
  • Thomas Stone High School, 1 p.m.
  • North Point High School, 5 p.m.

Wednesday, June 3

  • Henry E. Lackey High School, 9 a.m.
  • Westlake High School, 1 p.m.

Thursday, June 4

  • La Plata High School, 9 a.m.
  • St. Charles, 1 p.m.

Valedictorians and salutatorians for the Class of 2026 were recently announced and represent the top academic achievers among graduates at each high school. These positions are determined by students’ cumulative GPAs.

Henry E. Lackey High School’s Brylee Boyden is the valedictorian with Savannah Murphy named salutatorian. Boyden plans to attend the University of Maryland, College Park, to major in aerospace engineering. Murphy will attend the University of Tennessee in Knoxville to study graphic design.

Ella Luton is the valedictorian of La Plata High School. Following graduation, Luton plans to study biology at Salisbury University. Joyce Kang and Gaven Wu tied for the salutatorian spot. Kang plans to attend Johns Hopkins University where she will major in molecular and cellular biology. Wu plans to study chemical engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Maurice J. McDonough High School’s valedictorian is Cynclair Wilson with Joseph Ojukwu taking the salutatorian role. Wilson will attend the University of Maryland, College Park, in the fall where she will study engineering with a concentration in environmental science and policy. She plans to attend law school following college. Ojukwu will major in electrical engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park. Following college, he may pursue becoming a priest.

Arjun Garg of North Point High School is the school’s valedictorian and Noah Williams is the salutatorian. Garg will attend the University of Maryland, College Park, to study mechanical engineering. Williams is headed to New Jersey this fall to major in political science and economics at Princeton University.

St. Charles High School is led by Carly Newman as valedictorian and Ryan Gloria as salutatorian. Newman plans to attend Boston University to major in chemistry with a minor in medical anthropology on a pre-med track. Gloria will head to the University of Maryland, College Park, in the fall through the guaranteed admission pathway in the School of Nursing.

Amahyree Wells is the valedictorian for Thomas Stone High School with Samantha Grace as salutatorian. Wells plans to major in mechanical engineering and architecture at the University of Maryland, College Park, as a Banneker/Key Scholar. Grace will attend the University of Marlyand, Baltimore County (UMBC), where she will major in social work.

At Westlake High School, Christopher Chubbs Jr. is the valedictorian and Bianca Lepe is salutatorian. Chubbs plans to study computer science with a concentration in cybersecurity at the University of Maryland, College Park. At Maryland, Chubbs will be a Banneker/Key Scholar, having received the full Banneker/Key Scholarship. Lepe plans to major in biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of California, Davis.

By the numbers
The CCPS Class of 2026 includes 2,260 graduates among seven high schools. The scholarship totals are expected to increase as more offers are received.

Henry E. Lackey High School

La Plata High School

  • Total graduates: 274.
  • Scholarship offers: $24,852,744.

Maurice J. McDonough High School

  • Total graduates: 304.
  • Scholarship offers: $22,979,851.

North Point High School

  • Total graduates: 458.
  • Scholarship offers: $61,473,975.

St. Charles High School

  • Total graduates: 396.
  • Scholarship offers: $31,108,517.

Thomas Stone High School

  • Total graduates: 293.
  • Scholarship offers: $23,389,568

Westlake High School

  • Total graduates: 303.
  • Scholarship offers: $22,000,024.
