Charles County Destination Imagination teams compete in state-level competition

Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) Destination Imagination (DI) teams and others competed in the state-level competition on March 14 at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). To compete at the state event, teams must place among the top four competing teams in their respective challenge area at a regional competition.

The Blue Crab regional DI event was held last month with students from 52 teams participating.

A total of 33 Charles County teams competed at the state tournament on March 14 in one of six complex team challenge solutions, demonstrating problem-solving, teamwork and critical-thinking skills. Student teams compete in challenge areas such as technical, scientific, fine arts, improvisational, engineering and service-learning fields.

Win It Big (technical)

Elementary level

  • Billingsley Elementary School, Billingsley Dazzling Divas, fifth place.
  • Dr. James Craik Elementary School, Craik Golden Gummy Bear Takedown, sixth place.
  • Arthur Middleton Elementary School, Middleton The Owlet Games, 12th place.

  • La Plata High School, LPHS Skibidi Sigmas Power of 67, second place.
