Charles County Public Schools offers summer camps, programs for students kindergarten through Grade 12

Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) is offering several summer camp offerings for students. Enrichment camps, academic and athletic programs, and career exploration will be available for students starting in June.

To register for an AP boot camp, summer enrichment camp or career exploration camp, parents/guardians will need their child’s CCPS Student ID and the Summer Passcode. Student ID and summer passcodes can be found in StudentVue/ParentVue under the Student Info section. In the Student Info section, parents can scroll down to Summer Program Registration Information to find the Student ID and Summer Passcode.

Summer enrichment camps

Summer enrichment camps for students in kindergarten through eighth grade will be held July 27 to 30, Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. All sessions will be at North Point High School.

Summer enrichment camps for students in first through eighth grades are interest-based and include those focused on music, sports, STEM, crafts, the arts, reading and other subjects. Registration is required to attend.

To register a child for a spot in an enrichment camp visit https://ccboe.iad1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3Q8Yz1GbNgUcLNs. Registration deadline has been extended to May 15. Payment information will be sent to the parent/guardian after registration.

Lunch will be provided and tuition for the camp is $150 with options for financial assistance for families who qualify. Transportation is not provided.

AP Boot Camps

CCPS students in Grades 9 through 12, can prepare for high school with Advanced Placement (AP) Boot Camps. The boot camps are held at North Point High School from 8:30 to 11 a.m., July 27 to 30. North Point is at 2500 Davis Road in Waldorf.

CCPS students in Grades 9 through 12 must be enrolled in AP course(s) for the 2026-2027 school year at their high school. AP bootcamp options are AP chemistry, AP U.S. government, AP U.S. history and AP physics I & II. Lunch will be provided and tuition for the camp is $150 with options for financial assistance for families who qualify. Transportation is not provided.

Career Exploration camps

Career Exploration Camps for CCPS students who will be in seventh and eighth grades in the 2026-2027 school year will be held June 23-26 at North Point High School.

The free camps offer students an opportunity to learn more about CTE pathways and apprenticeship opportunities. The camps, on Tuesday to Friday, will run 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Science Center camps

The STEM one-day camp is 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 18 for students who will be in Grades 4 through 8 in the 2026-2027 school year. Campers will explore various STEM — Science, Technology, Engineering and Math — content and themes each day, with projects that can be finished in one day. The nonrefundable tuition is $50. The James E. Richmond Science Center will hold a free Junior Space Entrepreneur Program (JSEP) for high school students who will be sophomores, juniors and seniors in the 2026-2027 school year from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., July 13 to 31. The program, in partnership with the Space Foundation, is designed to prepare students to work in STEM-based fields and companies by providing an immersive educational experience. Lunch is provided. Rising sixth through eighth grade students can attend the Rocket Rise camp which combines science, engineering and creativity as students build, test and launch their own rockets. The science center is located at St. Charles High School in Waldorf at 5305 Piney Church Road.

Lackey Summer Youth Camp

The Lackey Summer Youth Camp, held at Henry E. Lackey High School, provides supervised activities in soccer, touch football, basketball, floor hockey, swimming, kickball, Wiffle ball and other games. CCPS employees receive a 50% discount on the cost of the camp for their children. The camp is held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, from June 22 to July 17. The camp will be closed on June 19 and July 4.

Nanjemoy Creek Summer Camps

The Nanjemoy Creek Environmental Educational Center will host nine summer day camps, June 18-Aug. 13. The camp days include sessions teaching campers about fishing, birds and other outdoor-themed activities. For the list of camps, registration links, dates and times visit https://bit.ly/4dTJWwv.

CCSO sports camps
The Charles County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) and CCPS are partnering to offer sports camps to students interested in football, baseball, soccer and basketball. Most camps are offered to students who were in Grades 5 through 8 in the 2025-2026 school year, with the soccer camp geared toward girls in Grades 3 to 5 in the 2025-2026 school year. The camps are free to students with limited space available at registration. Lunch will be provided to campers. Parents must provide lunches for children who have allergies and dietary restrictions.
