Rising McDonough sophomore wins overall in 2024 Charles County Fair cover contest
Samiya Moss, a rising sophomore at Maurice J. McDonough High School, is the overall winner of the 2024 Charles County Fair catalog cover art contest. Her artwork will be featured on the cover of the 2024 Charles County Fair Guide. She was chosen as this year’s winner by the Charles County Fair Board and Charles County Public Schools (CCPS). 

CCPS students can enter the contest annually. The following students were named overall winners at their grade level in the contest for artwork produced during the 2023-24 school year. Grade levels listed represent a student’s grade and school assignment for last school year. 

  • Brooklyn Campbell, kindergarten, J.C. Parks Elementary School. 
  • Payton Lancaster, first grade, T.C. Martin Elementary School. 
  • Micah Thomas, second grade, J.C. Parks. 
  • Francis Blumhardt, third grade, Dr. James Craik Elementary School. 
  • Hadley Hammonds, fourth grade, T.C. Martin. 
  • Reagan Brutcher, fifth grade, Mary B. Neal Elementary School. 
  • Delanney Nguyen, sixth grade, Piccowaxen Middle School. 
  • Amiya Douglas, seventh grade, Piccowaxen. 
  • Julia Harty, eighth grade, Piccowaxen. 
  • Heidi Yauch, sophomore, North Point High School. 
  • Aminah Wright, junior, North Point. 
  • Abbie Affum, senior, Maurice J. McDonough High School.
