Shear talent — Stethem barbering program accepting clients

The Robert D. Stethem Educational Center barbershop is taking appointments starting Jan. 27.

The shop is open noon to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, and from noon to 3 p.m. the first and third Wednesday of each month. The barbers are high school students enrolled in the center’s barbering program, overseen by an instructor who is a licensed barber.

The barbershop accepts cash only, and employees of Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) receive a 10% discount. The student barbers offer haircuts for $10 per child and adult.

Barbershop customers must follow the CCPS visitor policy and show identification before entering the Stethem center. The center is at 7775 Marshall Corner Road in Pomfret. To book an appointment online, click here.
