Superintendent of Schools Maria V. Navarro, Ed.D., is launching work into the next Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) strategic plan. Navarro, who was recently appointed to serve a second term as CCPS Superintendent, is seeking stakeholder feedback for use in developing a strategic plan to guide the school system from Fall 2025 through Spring 2029.
The current CCPS strategic plan highlights three priority areas: student learning and achievement; access and opportunities; and culture and climate. Each priority area has measurements built in to assess how the school system is performing. A summary of data and accomplishments from the past three years is posted on the CCPS website at https://www.ccboe.com/academics/strategic-planning-process-2025.
A survey is available for stakeholder input and feedback about what should be a focal point and priority in the next CCPS strategic plan. The survey is available now through 11:59 p.m., Friday, March 21. A link to the survey is below.
Click here to take the survey.
The survey includes response options for a parent, CCPS staff member, student (Grades 4-12) and community member. Survey takers should complete the survey that best describes their role with CCPS.
Superintendent Navarro will share a summary overview of received survey data at a future Board meeting. The Board of Education of Charles County and Superintendent Navarro will use feedback from the surveys to guide elements of a new strategic plan. Parents, staff, students and community members are encouraged to complete the survey.
Superintendent Navarro is also hosting several in-person and hybrid events with stakeholders to collect additional feedback. The schedule is below.
