Early College Program

1 year program for seniors:

• General Studies Transfer Certificate

2 year program for juniors:

• Business Administration Associates Degree
• Medical Coding Certificate
• Pharmacy Technician Certificate

Seniors completing the General Studies Transfer Certificate (25 credits) take college classes on CSM's La Plata Campus, while simultaneously fulfilling their high school graduation requirements. 

Juniors have several options: Business Administration, Associate of Science; Medical Coding Certificate; Pharmacy Technician Certificate. Business Administration courses will be held on the La Plata Campus. Health sciences and trades courses will take place on both the La Plata Campus and the Regional Hughesville Campus.

22. Be a junior or senior for the 2025-2026 academic year at a Charles County public high school.
     
23. Have an unweighted high school GPA of 2.75 or better.
     
24. Rising juniors must have completed Algebra 2 with a B or better to be considered for Business Administration Associates or Algebra 1 with a C or better for Health Science Certificates.
     
25. Rising seniors must have completed Algebra Trigonometry and Stats or Algebra 2 with a grade of C or higher by the end of the 2024-2025 academic year to apply for the General Studies Transfer Certificate.
     
26. All rising juniors and seniors must have completed their Student Service Learning hours requirements.
     
27. All rising juniors and seniors must have completed their state testing requirements.
     
28. Students who are selected for the program will be required to participate in an in-person CSM New Student Orientation in late August.

Application deadline: Jan. 31, 2025.

Applications will be reviewed, and students will be notified of acceptance in the late spring. When there are more applicants than spaces available, a lottery system will be used.
