Elementary Program of Studies
Welcome to the Charles County Public Schools Elementary Instructional Program!
Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) is committed to the academic, social, and emotional growth of every student. At the elementary level, we achieve this through high-quality, evidence-based instructional practices that foster deep understanding and promote student success. Our educators guide students through a progression of foundational and conceptual learning that builds toward mastery of grade-level content standards.
Instruction is thoughtfully differentiated by our educators to meet the diverse needs of all learners—ensuring that every child is challenged, supported, and empowered to thrive.
Our classrooms are vibrant and engaging spaces where students collaborate, think critically, and participate in meaningful discussions. Daily tasks and assignments are designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and self-expression. As students build skills and confidence, they are given increasing opportunities to apply their learning independently and demonstrate their mastery.
The Elementary Instructional Team is comprised of Content Specialists and Resource Teachers that partner closely with school leaders and instructional staff. We provide high-quality instructional materials, offer targeted support, and visit classrooms to model lessons, analyze instructional practices, coaching, and identify new ways to elevate teaching and learning.
We are proud to serve the youngest learners of Charles County and are committed to helping every child reach their full potential. We value the voices of parents, caregivers, and community members, and we welcome your input as we work together to create enriching, inclusive, and impactful educational experiences for all.
