Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Application

Step 1: Access the Power App

Navigate to the CCPS Student Device Application Power App using the following link: BYOD Application. You will be required to login with your CCPS student account to access the application. Note: On first login, you will be prompted to allow the application to access your data. If you do not allow it, you will not be able to continue with the application.

Step 2: Begin Your Application

The terms of the program will be shown. Once the terms of the program have been read, click the “I have read and agree to all terms.” to continue.

Step 3: Enter Device Information

Designate whether a personal laptop or iPad/tablet will be used and provide the device’s serial number and make/model. Only laptops, tablets or iPads are permitted; smartphones, game consoles and other wireless devices are prohibited. All details will be logged and sent to your parent or guardian for verification.

Step 4: Parent/Guardian Approval

After submitting your application, your parent or guardian will receive an email with a link to approve your request. Ensure they complete this step - applications cannot be processed without their approval. They will be required to enter the application code and student ID included in the email for the approval process to be completed.

Step 5: Device Collection & Network Access

Once approved, CCPS technology staff will coordinate collecting any school-issued laptop you currently have. After device collection, you will be granted authentication access to the BYOD network.

Quick Guide to completing the BYOD application

Step 1: Access the Power App

High school students can navigate to the CCPS Student Device Application Power App using the following link: BYOD Application. Step 2: Begin Your Application

Once the application loads, the terms of the program will be shown (Figure 2). Once the terms of the program have been read, click the “I have read and agree to all terms” to continue. You will need to scroll down through the full terms of the program to get to the agreement button (Figure 3).

 

Step 3: Enter Device Information

Once the student has agreed to the terms, they will need to submit the information about the device they will use on the CCPS network. Only Tablet/iPad or Laptops are allowed. Smartphones, game consoles or any other devices with wireless connectivity are prohibited to be used in the BYOD program. The information needed is the serial number, make/model and type of device i.e. iPad/Tablet vs. Laptop (Figure 4). The application cannot be submitted without this required information.

Step 4: Parental/Guardian Approval

After submitting your application, your parent/guardian will receive an email with a link to approve your request (Figure 5). Please ensure this step is completed as applications cannot be processed without parent/guardian approval.  The approval form requires the application code and student ID (which are included in the email) to be entered for the approval process to be completed.

Step 5: Confirmation and Device Distribution

Once approved, the parent or guardian will receive a confirmation email (Figure 6) and CCPS technology staff will coordinate collecting any devices and providing access to the student.

If the information submitted in the approval form does not match the information provided in the email, the parent or guardian will receive an email stating there was an issue (Figure 7). To approve it, the parent or guardian will need to go to the original email and click the link to submit the approval again.
