Weather Monitoring
Our high schools are equipped with weather stations and lightning detection equipment that provide real-time updates on local conditions. When lightning is detected within a 10-mile radius, a visual strobe light, alert siren, and countdown timer will activate. At this point, all activities must stop, and everyone should move to a safe area. If no further lightning is detected for 30 minutes, an "all-clear" siren will sound, and activities may resume based on field conditions.
