Program Description
Students in the Welding Technology program learn to cut and weld ferrous and non-ferrous materials using oxyfuel, plasma, arc cutting and various cutting power tools and welding machines. College bound students in this program supplement the welding curriculum with engineering and computer courses. Students will complete modules from American Welding Society specifications for qualification and certification for entry level welders. The more modules a student completes, the higher his/her placement in the Sheet Metal Workers’ Union Local #100 Apprenticeship programs or non-union jobs. Students may earn several welding certifications. Personal equipment and uniform are required.
