STEM/Engineering Dual Enrollment Pathway
Program Description:
The STEM/Engineering Dual Enrollment Pathway offers motivated high school students a unique opportunity to earn college credits while completing high school requirements. Through a partnership with the College of Southern Maryland (CSM), students follow a rigorous STEM-focused pathway that prepares them for careers in engineering and related fields.
Starting in 9th grade, students take honors and AP-level courses alongside college-level classes in math, science, and engineering. By 12th grade, students will have completed foundational engineering courses such as AutoCAD, Intro to Engineering, Computer Fundamentals for Engineers, and Statics—many taught by CSM faculty.
Students can earn transferable college credits, qualify for the Pre-Engineering Certificate, and even continue toward an associate’s degree in engineering at CSM. The program also offers a seamless transfer pathway to the University of Maryland’s A. James Clark School of Engineering, with opportunities for paid internships and tuition assistance.
With access to academic support services, tutoring, and dual enrollment options, students graduate high school well-prepared for college and engineering careers.
