Welding

Program Description

Students in the Welding Technology program learn to cut and weld ferrous and non-ferrous materials using oxyfuel, plasma, arc cutting and various cutting power tools and welding machines.

College bound students in this program supplement the welding curriculum with engineering and computer courses. Students will complete modules from American Welding Society specifications for qualification and certification for entry level welders.

Program completers will have several options for employment upon graduation, including apprenticeship opportunities with the Sheet Metal Workers Union, Ironworkers Union, Boilermakers Union, Steamfitters Union, and Pipe Fitters Union.Non-union employment with local manufacturers & college will always be an option. Students may earn several welding certifications. Personal equipment and uniform are required.
