Charles County Public Schools’ Early Childhood programs are intended to provide eligible young children with the skills, knowledge, and behaviors they will need to be successful in Kindergarten and beyond.

Early Childhood Programs

Ages: Birth - 5 years

Services Coordinated at F.B Gwynn Educational Center

Child Find
Developmental, speech, and hearing screenings. If needed, assessments and special education program planning.
Infants & Toddlers
Services are provided to infants and toddlers, birth through 3 years, who may be delayed in development or have disabilities.
Early Intervention Service
Addressing the needs of children, 3 through 5 years, who have or may have disabilities or developmental delays that impact their learning

Title I
3 Year-Old Program

The Title I Three-Year-Old Program is a high quality educational experience that prepares young children with foundational knowledge and skills necessary for school success in prekindergarten and beyond.

4-Year Old
Pre-Kindergarten

Preschool program for eligible 4-year-olds, available in all schools. Applications must be submitted, with priority for admission going to children whose families are homeless or economically disadvantaged.

Judy Center

Serving families of qualifying schools, by  working together with community partners to ensure that children are socially, emotionally and physically ready for first grade.
