All children entering Charles County Public Schools must have the following:
A physical examination by a physician or a certified practitioner. Physicals must be completed between nine months prior to and six months after entering school. Health Forms.
Proof that the student has completed the grade prior to the one in which the parent is seeking enrollment, such as a report card marked promoted.
Child’s birth certificate or other acceptable proof of birth (e.g. passport/visa; physician’s certificate; baptismal or church certification; hospital certificate; or birth registration). (If the child was born in Maryland, a copy of his/her birth certificate can be purchased from the Charles County Health Department. Call 301-609-6900.)
Students who are transferring from another school in Maryland should also have a copy of the Student Record Card 7 that is completed by the sending school. The Student Record Card 7 is also called the Maryland Student Withdrawal/Transfer Record.
Two proofs of Domicile / Residency *Note-Parent(s)/guardian(s) are responsible for promptly notifying the school system of any change in address. Failure to do so may result in the student being immediately transferred to the school zoned for the student’s correct address.
Three-year-old Program Application Information
Registration for the Title I three-year-old program begins Monday, April 15 at county Title I elementary schools. Interested parents must schedule an appointment at their child’s zoned elementary school to complete the application process for the 2019-20 school year. Applications will be accepted by appointment only. The program is located at C. Paul Barnhart, Dr. Gustavus Brown, Indian Head, Mt. Hope/Nanjemoy, J.P. Ryon, Dr. Samuel A. Mudd and Eva Turner elementary schools. The program serves Title I elementary schools and students must reside within Title I school zones to be eligible. PreKindergarten To enter prekindergarten for the 2019-20 school year, a child must be four years old by September 1, 2019. Admission is based on criteria and guidelines set by the Maryland State Department of Education and is not guaranteed. Placement in prekindergarten in based on student need in three categories. Online registration for students new to CCPS entering prekindergarten through twelfth grade.
Parents should use one of the registration links below to register a child not already enrolled in CCPS. Students currently enrolled do not need to register for the next school year. The online registration process allows users the option to upload the required registration documents or bring the documents to the school. If the option to bring the documents to school is selected, do not submit the registration but simply log out and the registration is automatically saved. After the documents are uploaded at the school, the user can submit the registration. Parents should contact their child’s zoned school to request information on how to register in person at school. Parents new to CCPS must first create a ParentVUE account to register online using a valid email address.
New users must first click More Options located underneath the word Login, then select Create a New Account. Click the link below to create an account and start the registration process. The Create a New Account option is only available when you use the registration link provided below.
Parents with students already enrolled in CCPS can complete the registration for another child using an active ParentVUE account.
Parents who have not activated their ParentVUE account must contact their enrolled child's school to receive an activation code. The Online Registration tab is in the upper right-hand corner of all ParentVUE accounts. The Online Registration tab is not available on the ParentVUE mobile app, you must use a web browser to log in to your account to register. After you log in, the link below will open directly to Online Registration.
