The Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) summer school program begins online July 7. Courses available will use a mix of Microsoft Teams instruction and the Apex Learning platform. Students can take a maximum of two make-up courses during summer school.  The cost of make-up courses has been waived by CCPS this year. Summer school also offers four courses for original credit and are $300 each. All courses run July 7 through Aug. 6. A summer school graduation ceremony is to be determined. High school virtual graduation ceremonies are now available on demand on the Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) YouTube and Vimeo channels. On YouTube and Vimeo, graduates, parents and family members can watch any ceremony at any time. To access the CCPS YouTube channel, click here. The CCPS Vimeo channel can be accessed through the link here. Closed captioning is available on both YouTube and Vimeo. Select the CC icon under the video to turn on closed captioning in English. Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) is offering a free summer meals program for children 18 and younger who live in Charles County. CCPS will continue to serve grab-and-go meals at the 11 meal sites from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Tuesday, June 30. Meals will continue to be available through Aug. 14; however, CCPS is waiting for direction from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) as to how meals can be provided after June 30. The Board of Education’s next monthly meeting is Tuesday, June 9 via teleconference. There is no public access to the Jesse L. Starkey Administration Building on Radio Station Road in La Plata; however, the meeting will stream live on the Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) website, www.ccboe.com and air live on Comcast Channel 96 and Verizon FiOS Channel 12.
