Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) students entering any middle or high school grade level at the start of the 2018-19 school year can now select classes online through their StudentVUE accounts. This includes all current fifth-grade students up to high school juniors, and includes a course schedule for the coming school year.
In prior years, the course request process for secondary students was completed on paper only. The launch of the online course request function streamlines the scheduling process for students, parents and school staff. Schools will continue to send paper-based course selection sheets home with students so they can begin to think about their schedule for next school year.
Parents can also access their child’s course selections on ParentVUE. The online course selection process through StudentVUE and ParentVUE is not available on the mobile app. Users must log in to a computer to access their account for online course selection. Upon log in, select the Course Request tab to begin.
Students can prioritize electives, search the system for available courses and review their required classes for the coming school year. Once a student completes the course selection process, a school staff member will review the schedule with them. Staff can also suggest courses for students and import the information into StudentVUE. Students will not be able to edit suggested courses until they meet with a school staff member.
An overview of the process, as well additional details about ParentVUE and StudentVUE, is posted on the CCPS website. A student account overview is posted at http://www.ccboe.com/index.php/studentvue-account-overview. Parents can review the process on the CCPS website at http://www.ccboe.com/index.php/parentvue-account-overview.
Students and parents should direct questions to their child’s school.
