Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) is hosting its History, Industry, Technology and Science Expo (HITS) this Saturday, March 16 from 1 to 5 p.m. at St. Charles High School in Waldorf. The Expo is a showcase of student work in the areas of science and history. The event also features hands-on activities and learning opportunities for students in areas such as science, history, career and technology education, engineering and more.

Some of the activities attendees can participate in include escape room sessions, crafts, crime solving, making homemade ice cream, computer coding, robotics and archeology. Other presentations include live raptors from the Nanjemoy Creek Environmental Education Center, welding demonstrations from students in the North Point High School program, the Alice Ferguson Foundation and the Dr. Samuel A. Mudd House. Movies are also set to run in the planetarium at the James E. Richmond Science Center.

An awards ceremony to honor student winners in the history and science fair portion of the Expo begins at 5 p.m. The Expo replaced the annual Charles County science and history fairs and includes projects from both Charles County public and private schools.
