To access Canvas, students should follow these steps: 

1. Go to your Office 365 account. 
2. Click on "All Apps" to view the complete list of available applications. 
3. Look for the Canvas app icon. 
4. Click on the Canvas app icon to log in seamlessly using your Office 365 credentials. 

This method ensures that students can easily find and access Canvas directly from their Office 365 account by navigating through the "All Apps" section. If you encounter any difficulties or have questions, please ask for assistance from your teacher. 

The official gradebook in CCPS can be found on ParentVUE that can be accessed through the ParentVUE Access Portal. 

No, all of your children will be connected to their parent based on parental or guardian rights. 

Your password for the mobile app and website is the same. On the Canvas Parent App, use the Login with Canvas button. 

For Grades 6-12, click on the Grades icon in Canvas to view scores and feedback, however, please remember that ParentVUE is the official grade book of record in CCPS. Teachers are not required to create assignments in Canvas so not all work will be shown in Canvas.

Remember Canvas courses are new for the 2024-2025 school year. Allow teachers time to import their course templates, make updates and publish them. For the first quarter of the school year, you may only see general course information in published courses. 

Elementary teachers are not using the grade book in Canvas. However, they can still use assignments and quizzes based on appropriate age expectations and after students feel comfortable navigating Canvas.

The Parent app does not have notification settings for email, but you can change those on the website. Using a web browser, log into Canvas then click on Account (profile photo) on the top left. Select Notifications in that menu.

Steps to Manage Notifications

Follow the directions below to manage your notification preferences.

• Step 1 | Open Your Account
  In Global Navigation, click the Account link [1], then click the Notifications link [2].
   
  
   
• Step 2 | Change Delivery Frequency
  To change a notification delivery frequency for a contact method, locate the notification and contact method. Then click the notification icon [2]. You can select one of four delivery frequency types:
  • Notify immediately [3]
  • Daily summary [4]
  • Weekly summary [5]
  • Notifications off [6]
     

Keep in Mind:

• When parents click links to the course from an email notification, it may direct them to a login page.
• Parents will not be able to access Microsoft Office docs linked in Canvas, and other external/integrated tools, as they do not have accounts.
