AP Psychology
This AP Bootcamp will focus on introducing incoming AP Psychology students to the basic concepts needed to be successful in AP Psychology. The course will be broken up to highlight the four Scientific Practices Associated with Psychology: Concept Application, Research Methods, Data Interpretation, and Argumentation. Each day will begin by introducing the concepts and vocabulary for the current Scientific Practice. The afternoon will focus on applying and practicing the concepts discussed in the morning. Application activities will include Speed Dating, Taboo, “Survive This!”, and more. By the end of this Bootcamp, students will have a solid conceptual foundation for a successful year of AP Psychology.

AP Language & Composition
Kickstart success in AP Language & Composition with a focused, four-day prep experience! Students will explore the AP exam format, tackle a timed essay, and dive into the writing rubric—breaking down sophistication, thesis development, and evidence use. They'll sharpen reading skills with annotation practice and note-taking strategies and boost their rhetorical vocabulary through an exciting geocaching, scavenger hunt and escape room challenge. AP Statistics
AP Statistics is the math most connected to the real world. Students will focus on the skills necessary for a successful year in AP Statistics including time management, organization, and problem-solving skills. In this bootcamp, we will cover the basics of data analysis and visualization using real world data. Students will also learn to handle data on both the TI-84 calculator and computers, and will learn to calculate useful statistical measures on both devices.
*Requirement: Students must be enrolled in AP Statistics for the 2025-2026 school year.
AP Precalculus
AP Precalculus equips students with a solid foundation to succeed in future college-level mathematics and science courses. This course is particularly valuable for students whose academic and career paths do not necessitate calculus, as it helps them meet college mathematics requirements. The bootcamp program emphasizes essential skills such as time management, organization, and problem-solving to ensure a productive and successful experience in AP Precalculus. Students will revisit and strengthen their prior knowledge and foundational skills, preparing them for the challenges of the course. Additionally, participants will gain hands-on experience using both the TI-84 and DESMOS graphing calculators for mathematical manipulations. By the conclusion of the bootcamp, students will leave with an interactive notebook that serves as a comprehensive record of their summer learning experience.

AP Spanish
This camp is designed to help students build confidence and readiness for the rigorous AP Spanish curriculum. Campers will engage in all four language domains—speaking, reading, writing, and listening—through interactive activities and assessments. Grammar and comprehension skills will also be reviewed to evaluate language proficiency and set personalized and group learning goals. No baseball experience is required to participate. Your camper is encouraged to bring a baseball glove, wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. We will have limited number of baseball gloves on hand. if your child brings cleats, they will need an alternate pair of shoes as well. For the safety of all campers, parents will not be permitted to be on the grounds during the camp. On Tuesday, June 24th, please arrive between 7:30 and 7:45am for registration.

No football experience is required to participate. Your camper is encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather (NO CLEATS). For the safety of all campers parents will not be permitted to be on the grounds during the camp.

The program incorporates life skills classes taken from the Healthy Choices/Healthy Children curriculum. These programs include a variety of real world life lessons covering topics such as sportsmanship, decision making, conflict resolution, communication skills, teamwork, leadership, nutrition, and self management.
No soccer experience is required to participate. Your camper is encouraged to bring shin guards, cleats, a water bottle, and dress for the weather. For the safety of all campers parents will not be permitted to be on the grounds during the camp. On Tue., July 1, please arrive between 7:30-7:45 a.m. for registration.

The program incorporates life skills classes taken from the Healthy Choices/Healthy Children and Arise curriculums. These programs include a variety of real-world life lessons covering topics such as personal responsibility, sportsmanship, decision making, conflict resolution, communication skills, teamwork, leadership, gang prevention, substance abuse prevention, bullying prevention, nutrition, and self-management. Field trips will be on Thursday to a Blue Crabs Game, Farming for Hunger, and Kings Dominion. The Kings Dominion trip will be Thursday, July 31st and will be an extended day.
We are firmly committed to providing the tools to our young people that will enable them to succeed and make good choices. We believe that our program will significantly enhance your child's success in school and life.

Join us for summer story hours that focus on school readiness skills for children ages 2-5 who reside in Charles County.
The goal of the group is to provide enriching experiences that promote school readiness skills including language and literacy, mathematics, social foundations, and gross and fine motor development.
Each group meets for 4 weeks. Registered participants should plan to attend all 4 weeks. A parent or caregiver must participate in each session alongside the child. You must pre-register using the link below for your preferred group.

If you have ever been interested in birds of prey (raptors), then this camp is for you! We will learn about what makes raptors a unique group of birds and explore local raptors in the area. We will look for wild raptors and their nests in different habitats. In addition, we will feed and meet out captive raptors and dissect an owl pellet. Students should bring a lunch and water bottle and dress for outdoor activities. Drop off and pick up is at Nanjemoy Creek Environmental Education Center. Camp runs from 8:30-3:00pm

A simple walk in the woods can inspire beautiful creations. Campers will soak up nature and create crafts inspired by what they see in both the woods and a small pond. Join us for a paddle ‘sesh’ as we explore Nanjemoy Creek and the surrounding wetlands. Activities will include watershed activities, paddle/canoe practice, wetland exploration by canoe, and canoe races. Students will need to pack a lunch, water bottle, swim attire w/water shoes and a towel. It is preferred that they have their swim attire on under their clothes to minimize the time to change. Habitat Explorers Camp for Grades 3-8
August 5: 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Explore all the habitats that make up the Nanjemoy Creek campus! Campers will discover what organisms are present in the marsh, meadow, forest, ponds, and creek. We’ll explore food webs, biodiversity, and more! Students should bring a lunch and water bottle and dress for outdoor activities. Drop off and pick up is at Nanjemoy Creek Environmental Education Center. Camp runs from 8:30-3:30pm.

Eco-Crafters for Grades 5-8
August 6: 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Some discarded items are just waiting to be turned into treasures. Campers will learn about upcycling (reusing a discarded object in such a way as to create an object of higher quality or value). This camp will focus on trash and ways to keep it out of landfills. Campers will create a mosaic flowerpot using bits of broken plates and pottery. They will explore the world of worms and then plant a native plant using soil and worm compost in their pots. We will also explore how to create a work of art using discarded items. Students should bring a lunch and water bottle and dress for outdoor activities. Drop off and pick up is at Nanjemoy Creek Environmental Education Center. Camp runs from 8:30-3:30pm.
