Summer School 2024

Registration opens June 10 and closes June 19.  An email from the school counselor will be sent to parents whose students are eligible for summer school with the recommended course.  Contact your school counselor with questions and/or course recommendations. Registration is not through Synergy (ParentVue) this year but through your school counselor.  Click here for a list of school counselors.

All courses run July 2 through August 1, Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays are set aside during summer school for students to complete course work. Summer school graduation ceremonies will take place on August 2, 2024.

All costs for summer school courses have been waived by CCPS for the 2024 program.

Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) 2024 summer school program starts Tuesday, July 2. The schedule includes a mix of make-up and original credit courses. All make-up credit courses will be taught in person and original credit courses will be virtual through the Apex Learning and Zoom online platforms. 

Transportation will be available at hubs located throughout Charles County.

Transportation Information

Summer School Bus Stop Hubs


  • All summer buses will display window signs with the route bus numbers.
  • Please confirm your summer school site destination with your driver before boarding.
  • Plan to arrive to the stop and be ready to board at least 5 minutes prior to the posted pickup time.
  • Remember- the bus is an extension of the school building and all school rules apply onboard.
  • Please be respectful of our neighbors at community stops and do not litter.

Middle School Location

Classes will be held at Theodore G. Davis Middle School.

High School Locations

  • Lackey High School for students who have a home address zoned for Henry E. Lackey, Maurice J. McDonough, North Point, and Thomas Stone high schools.
  • La Plata High School for students who have a home address zoned for St. Charles, La Plata and Westlake high schools.
