Class of 2020 Cap and Gown Photos

 

Senior cap and gown portraits will take place in the LPHS Auditorium on February 11 and 12 from 8:00 AM to 2:15 PM.  Lifetouch will mail information about appointment dates/times on January 21.

Senior Class T-Shirt Design Competition

 

Entries for the senior class t-shirt design competition will be accepted through January 24.  Students should submit entries in jpeg file format to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.and should be sure to follow all established criteria.

 

Graduation Announcements 

A representative from Jostens presented information to seniors on November 8 regarding graduation announcements and other merchandise.  Students should not order their own cap and gown.  Any other items can be ordered online via www.jostens.com.  Announcements will be delivered to La Plata High School for student pick up in the spring.

Senior information night was Tuesday, August 27.  Click here to view the presentation, which includes information about senior dues, graduation and transcript requests.

 

Waiver Students – Altered Bell Schedules

Seniors on principal/college waiver are required to attend all scheduled classes at La Plata for the entire duration of the class.  In cases where the bell schedule is altered due to beginning of the year procedures, delayed opening or other circumstances, waiver students must stay at La Plata through the end of their last class. 

Typically, 4th period ends at 10:50 AM.  Students who are scheduled to leave after 4th period will sign out and then exit the building at that time.  Period 6 normally ends at 12:38.

There will be an altered bell schedule during the first week of school.  From September 3rd through September 6th, period 4 will end at 11:20.  Period 6 will end at 12:38. 

In the event of a 2-hour delay, period 4 ends at 11:56.

Senior Dues Information

Senior dues must be paid by November 8, 2020.  Dues are $125.00 and include the graduation cap, gown, stole and tassel along with senior awards and recognitions, commencement exercises, class picnic and class t-shirt.  Dues can be paid online at http://bit.ly/2zizv0U

Commencement Ceremony Information

The La Plata High School Commencement Ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 30 at 2:00 p.m. at the Convocation Center at North Point High School.  All seniors will be required to arrive at La Plata High School by 11:15 a.m. on May 30.  Buses will transport the graduating class to the Convocation Center.  

Graduation Dress Code

      Ladies: Professional business attire. Solid white, black, or navy dress/pants/skirt. Pants or skirts may be worn with a white collared dress shirt. Solid white, navy, or black dress shoes(maximum heel of 2 inches). Backless or strapless dresses will not be permitted. Spaghetti strap dresses must have a covering.  All attire must meet CCPS dress code. No cork wedge heels may be worn. 

 

Gentlemen: Professional business attire.  Solid navy or black dress pants, white collared dress shirt, navy or black necktie, black dress shoes with dark socks.
