Mrs. Taylor was named principal at Milton M. Somers Middle School in 2018.  Prior to serving as principal, she was principal at Berry Elementary School for two years and William A. Diggs Elementary School for nine years. She began her career with Charles County Public Schools in 2001, serving first as vice principal at Walter J. Mitchell Elementary School. She was vice principal at Mitchell for five years and was named the first vice principal at Diggs when the school opened in 2006.

She began her teaching career in 1993 as an elementary school teacher in Hillsborough County Public Schools in Tampa. She moved to Maryland in 1994, where she taught sixth grade for several years at Ft. Washington Forest Science and Math Technology School with Prince George's County Public Schools. Mrs. Taylor also served as the Challenge Grant Coordinator from 2000 to 2001 at Rose Valley Elementary School in Prince George's County.
