AI Tools in CCPS

Canva AI

Canva’s built-in AI features are transforming how students and teachers create, communicate, and collaborate in classrooms. With intuitive tools powered by artificial intelligence, Canva makes it easier than ever to design stunning educational content that’s clear, accessible and engaging—no design experience required.

Accessing Canva AI Tools

Students and staff can access Canva through the Clever Portal. Once logged in, all AI features—including Magic Design, and Text to Image—are readily available within the Canva workspace.

Copilot in Microsoft Edge browser

Microsoft Copilot, integrated into the Edge browser, can be an excellent tool for students. Remember, while Copilot is a powerful tool, it is meant to assist and not replace learning. Always cross-verify information and use it as a guide to complement your studies.

It can assist in various tasks such as:

Research: Copilot can help find information on the web, summarize articles and provide insights on a wide range of topics.
Homework Help: Whether it’s solving math problems, explaining scientific concepts, or helping with language arts assignments, Copilot can provide assistance.
Writing Aid: Copilot can help improve writing by providing suggestions for better sentence structure, grammar and vocabulary.
Coding Help: For students learning to code, Copilot can provide code examples, explain programming concepts and even debug code.

Accessing Copilot

Microsoft Copilot is already built into Microsoft Teams and Edge for your convenience. When you log into Microsoft Edge with your CCPS profile, you will notice an icon to the right - that’s Copilot! You can click on this icon anytime you need assistance with research, homework, writing, coding and more. Enjoy the seamless learning experience with Copilot!

In newer versions of Microsoft Edge web browser (v118.0 and later), Microsoft has added a new Copilot button or icon to the toolbar.

Firefly in Adobe Express

Adobe Firefly in Adobe Express is a content creation app that is reshaping the landscape of creative expression in education. Packed with innovative features and powered by Firefly beta generative AI capabilities, this latest version makes design and content creation a fast, intuitive, and enjoyable experience for users of all skill levels.

Accessing Firefly in Adobe Express:

Staff and students can conveniently find the link to Adobe Express within their Microsoft Office apps. Once accessed, Firefly is already an integral part of Express, offering a seamless experience.

Khanmigo Teacher Tools

Khanmigo Teacher Tools, now within your Canvas courses menus, represent a significant advancement in educational technology. You can also access Khanmigo outside of Canvas using the "Continue with Microsoft" sign in option. Developed by Khan Academy, Khanmigo is an AI-powered teaching assistant designed to support educators by streamlining daily tasks and enhancing instructional effectiveness. AI Event for Parents and Educators

The Office of Technology hosted a special virtual event with guest speakers from the Maryland Center for Computer Education. This event was a beginner-friendly webinar designed for both parents and teachers and helped listeners explore the essentials of AI in education. This includes learning how to foster digital literacy, staying informed about AI developments, and integrating technology responsibly into classrooms and homes.
