Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) and the Charles County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) continue its partnership on the We Care campaign promoting safe driving practices among teen drivers.

We Care has been a staple in the county for more than a decade. The initiative aims to raise awareness among young drivers about the responsibilities of driving and to prevent deaths and injuries on the road.

The sheriff’s office asks drivers to obey speed limits, wear seat belts and not be distracted by phones while driving. The campaign includes assemblies and — at the start of the school year — the sheriff and superintendent visit a high school to greet student drivers as they arrive for the day.

A flier promoting We Care also includes Maryland driving laws that teen drivers and their families should be aware of. Find out more about driving laws, go to www.mva.maryland.gov.
