Board approves the appointment of Bowdré as chief financial officer
The Board of Education of Charles County at its June 22 work session approved the appointment of Uriel Bowdré as chief financial officer for Charles County Public Schools (CCPS). Bowdre’s appointment is effective immediately. He began his new role with CCPS on Monday, June 22.
Bowdré has more than 15 years of experience as a finance leader starting his career as a tax and accounting manager with the Jourdan Accounting Agency in Forest Park, Ga. From there, he worked for BLG Logistics in Atlanta, Exide Technologies in Milton, Ga., and Atlanta-based HCBR Group Inc.
Prior to joining CCPS, Bowdré was the chief financial officer (CFO) of Source Support Services in Lawrenceville, Ga., an organization he was with for a decade. With Source Support Services, Bowdré held the positions of director of finance, senior director of finance and sales operations, and vice president of finance before assuming the CFO role.
Bowdré brings extensive CFO-level experience in financial reporting, strategic planning, capital allocation and risk management. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with executive leaders and board members to present financial information, support long-term planning, guide responsible use of resources and align financial strategy with organizational goals. His experience also includes budgeting, forecasting, process improvement and using financial data to support informed, transparent decision-making.

A graduate of Strayer University, Bowdré holds a Bachelor’s of Science in international business and accounting, and a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in management and finance. Bowdré is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
As the chief financial officer for CCPS, Bowdré will oversee a team that ensures the school system can meet its fiscal obligations and continue educating students. Oversight in the office includes financial accounting, audit, benefits, budget, food and nutrition services, procurement, payroll and risk management.
