Registration for the Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) kindergarten program begins Monday, March 28. Maryland law requires students entering kindergarten to be five years old by Sept. 1 of the school year in which the child is registered. For the 2022-2023 school year, a child must be five years old on or before Sept. 1, 2022.
Kindergarten registrations must be completed through the CCPS online registration system in ParentVue. To register, parents will need to know what elementary school is zoned for their physical home address. Parents can use the online School Locator Infoshare system to review school zones at https://www.ccboe.com/departments/transportation/school-locator. Select the How to Use School Locator (Infoshare) option for step-by-step directions.
Parents with children already enrolled in CCPS can use their active ParentVue account to register a child for prekindergarten. After logging in, parents can select Online Registration from the upper-right hand corner. Online registration for kindergarten will not be available in ParentVue until March 28.
Parents new to CCPS will need to create a ParentVue account to complete registration for kindergarten. This process requires a valid email address. Click here to access ParentVue or visit www.ccboe.com and select ParentVue from the top right menu.
The online registration process requires users to upload document copies and/or images of required documents. Once a registration is submitted by a parent, CCPS staff will review and notify the parent/guardian if any information is missing.
A list of required documents to register a student for school in CCPS is posted on the school system website https://www.ccboe.com/parents/online-registration.
Parents who need assistance in completing online kindergarten registration can email OLRsupport@ccboe.com or call their child’s school of enrollment.
The registration window for kindergarten and prekindergarten program applications opens Monday, March 28.
